Family…Where you don’t have to be poised or posed. Where you can smother with love. Dance. Laugh. Hang with and hang on. They’re your safety net and your trampoline. They’re there when it’s hard. And often times they’re what make things easy. Love that this family are those things for each other. I think it shines through in their session!
I love this age of kids… You start to get a sneak peek at what they’ll possibly look like when they’re grown, (Which, I mean… Come on! How handsome are these guys!!?) but still have the fun, bashful, sweetness of still being kids. Brother’s are usually fighting, or rough-housing, or in some way picking on the other, but these two, are so sweet! May that also be a sneak peek into how they’ll be when they’re grown.
Back before being a photographer was big, 15 years ago, I was slingin’ lattes as a barista at Starbucks seeing if I could make this “photo thing” work. Well, looks like more than just my mom reads this “little blog” and I’ve had the honor of taking a photo or two. (: But before my business got off the ground, I had to pay my bills and getting free coffee is never a bad option. I loved it! I also loved who I worked with. If I was gonna get up at 4:14AM (I’m not a morning person) I better like who I”m working with. And I did! Tara was one of those people. She’s fun. Genuine. And obviously has good tastebuds. (: So crazy to see where this life journey has brought each of us. Her little girls are absolute dolls!
You know those iconic meltdown photos of a kid sitting on Santa’s lap? That was most of this session. ? Kids love Santa so why the tears? These baby cousins adore each other and don’t get to be together nearly enough so we thought they’d be excited! Gotta say, much like the holiday pics, sometimes the melt downs turn out even better! ?
If I had to describe this family in one word I’d say: “classy.” They’re the kinda pretty and put together that when making pancakes on a weekend it could be a spread in the JCREW catalog.
They’re not only the kind of people… they ARE the people that have so many accomplishments but you wouldn’t know it from their own words. They have every right to, but they aren’t braggers or boastful. Especially in a culture where everyone is blasting bigger and better online, these guys humbleness is…well, classy!
